Homebound Program

The Homebound Program is a temporary setting for students who need academic support after an accident, serious illness, terminal illness, or long-term hospitalization.  The program is not intended for students who have medical conditions, emotional conditions or social issues that can be addressed through the medical or counseling services available in the schools.

homebound program is an alternative education program, that has instruction constraints making it difficult for students to receive an appropriate education.  Homebound students receive a maximum of six hours per week of instruction for only core classes compared to approximately 30-36 hours in a regular school day. Homebound students must complete the majority of their assignments without the benefit of an instructor to address questions and problems as they arise.

While on homebound, students may not work, participate in sports, or attend school functions and activities, such as dances carnivals proms, and sporting events.  Students requiring homebound are not permitted to apply for Proof of Enrollment to obtain their Learner's Permit or Driver's License.
