Advanced Photoshop for Educators

The Cabell County Schools Technology Department announces a 6-week advanced course in Photoshop. Photoshop is the world’s most popular image editor because it delivers powerful ways to edit, retouch, and restore photos and manipulate digital images. The tools bring images, and your creative ideas, to life! This course will build on skills learned previously and will address challenging photography issues, building progressively from week to week with time to practice and review work.  During this class, images of activities in and of your school will be printed and placed at the Board of Education.

The class will meet Mondays starting on February 26, 2018 from 3:30PM-6:30PM in Lab B at Cabell County Schools Central Office. The class is limited to 18 participants and is open to all Cabell County Schools employees. Name and email are collected via registration form automatically.

Tech 2.2 OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive provides access to files from anywhere in a secure environment. Use your phone, tablet, or computer to continue working no matter what device you started the project. Share files, folders, and photos to collaborate to increase productivity and keep data safe. Participants will learn how to migrate files from local drives and save to OneDrive from a variety of applications. Open to all employees of Cabell County Schools. The class will meet from 4PM to 5PM at Huntington East Middle School on February 6, 2018 and at Milton Middle School on February 12, 2018.

Tech 2.0 Best Practices for Social Media and Digital Citizenship


The abundance of digital devices expands opportunities to communicate, collaborate, share, and learn. The powerful communication afforded by our mobile world creates new challenges with privacy and appropriate use. This one hour class will focus on best practices in using social media for educators to develop a positive presence online plus methods to help students with digital communications. This class will meet  from 4PM-5PM at Barboursville Middle School on February 20, 2018 and Huntington Middle School on February 22, 2018.

Closed Effective Integration of Educational Technology Closed

The Effective Integration of Educational Technology into 21st Century Classrooms course is an advanced implementation to acquaint classroom teachers with ways to meaningfully integrate student-centered educational technology into the classroom environment that reinforce learning in all subjects. Participants will learn advanced classroom techniques in using technology tools to foster collaboration, remediation, problem-solving, accessibility, and communication to further the college and career readiness of all students. Course participants will learn about effective ways to create a more digital and user-friendly curriculum using Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps for Education, and other edtech tools. Non-degree graduate credit is available from Marshall University at a substantially reduced fee.

The course will meet for fifteen weeks starting Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Lab A at the Cabell County Schools Central Office from 3:30PM-6:30PM. The course is limited to 25 participants and is open to all Cabell County Schools Professional Educators. Name and email are collected via registration form automatically.

CLOSED Intermediate Photoshop for Educators CLOSED

The Cabell County Schools Technology Department announces for the second semester a seven-week intermediate course in Photoshop. Photoshop is the world’s most popular image editor because it gives us powerful ways to edit, retouch and restore our photos and digital images. The tools and commands help bring your images, and your creative ideas, to life! This course will build on skills learned in Photoshop as a beginner and will address challenging photography issues, such as bringing out hidden detail in the highlights and shadows, replacing a sky and more all in a non-destructive environment. Skills will build progressively from week to week with time to practice and review work.

The class will meet Tuesdays starting on January 9, 2018 from 3:30PM-6:30PM in Lab B at Cabell County Schools Central Office. The class is limited to 18 participants and is open to all Cabell County Schools employees. Name and email are collected via registration form automatically.
