About Upper Tom's Creek
Peter and Eliza Bledsoe deeded the lot for the schoolhouse, September 2, 1893 and thus the Upper Tom's Creek School was established.
The schoolhouse was a one-room framed building which stood about a quarter of a mile up Bledsoe Hollow, a branch of Upper Tom's Creek, on the right side of the road.
Grades 1-8 were taught at the schoolhouse. The school was closed in the summer of 1944.
The students were given a choice of attending school at Ona or Salt Rock.
