Monroe School located on 11st Street West and Monroe Avenue, Huntington, WV, taught grades 1-6.

In 1955-56 there were 432 students.

In 1957-58 there were 437 students.

In 1960-61 there were 356 students.

In 1979-80 school year there were 287 students.

In 1980-81 school year there were 296 students.

In 1981-82 school year there were 269 students.

In 1982-83 school year there were 387 students.

In 1983-84 school year there were 355 students.

In 1984-85 school year there were 351 students.

In 1985-86 school year there were 322 students.

In 1986-87 school year there were 315 students.

In 1987-88 school year there were 308 students.

In 1988-89 school year there were 317 students.

Monroe School opened its doors in 1924. Additions were made to the school in 1950 and 1979.

In 1995-96 school year there were 203 students enrolled.

In 1996-97 school year there were 213 students enrolled.
