Cox Landing Elementary School located in Lesage, WV taught grades 1-6.

In 1955-56, there were 259 students and in 1957-58 there were 261 students.

In 1960-61 there were 276 students.


Thisinformation was obtained from: “Directory Cabell County Public Schools”, 1955-1956 and 1957-1958 was a loan from John Hanna, Principal at Southside Elementary.

In 1980-81 school year there were 384 students.

In 1981-82 school year there were 405 students.

In 1982-83 school year there were 365 students.

In 1983-84 school year there were 389 students.

In 1984-85 school year there were 355 students.

In 1985-86 school year there were 383 students.

In 1986-87 school year there were 392 students.

In 1987-88 school year there were 350 students.

In 1988-89 school year there were 348 students.

Cox Landing Middle School closed September 1994. The students were combined with Barboursville Middle, Salt Rock Middle, and Barboursville High School in 1994.

Cox Landing Middle was built in 1967. Additions to the school took place in 1970 & 1978.
